Business Lab case: How we implemented zoho recruit and automated our own hiring

At Business Lab, we help other companies get their business processes in order every day. We set up Zoho, create automations, integrations, CRM, everything so that companies can work quickly and efficiently.
But one day we realized that while we were automating our clients’ funnels, our own hiring was suffering. Endless email threads, manually downloading resumes, and HR manager practically living inside hh.ru. At some point, we said to ourselves: "Stop" and automated our HR process through Zoho, the same system that we implement for our clients.
What did we do? We integrated Zoho Recruit with HeadHunter and added candidate assessments directly inside the CRM. Here’s how that transformed our hiring process.
hh.ru and Zoho Recruit: when applications come to you automatically
High-quality hiring requires speed and structure. Especially if you are looking for not just "people", but strong specialists who will make a product and business together with you. If you have ever recruited people through hh.ru, then you know what this means, every response is a letter, message, call. By the time you downloaded your resume, opened it, responded, three other employers had already written first.
We set Zoho Recruit as the main platform for hiring. Then we made a custom integration with hh.ru, now all responses are automatically sent to Zoho Recruit:
Applications appear in the system instantly.
A candidate card is created with a resume, vacancy, and all correspondence..
No need to forward, duplicate, or copy..
Then the recruitment funnel: response → test → interview → offer.
The vacancy is open. Each candidate is a card in the system. The system works.
Candidate assessments: setting up the Zoho Recruit assessment module
We work a lot with Zoho analysts, project managers, marketers. Therefore, it is important not just to read a resume, but to understand what a person can really do. Therefore, we added automatic sending of test tasks directly from Zoho - Assessment module in Zoho Recruit, to conduct:
Motivation tests
Writing and logic assessments
Role-specific tasks (e.g., for marketers or business analysts)
The results of the task are stored in the candidate’s card, where they can be easily assessed.
What does this give us:
The ability to see scores and answers before the interview.
Filtering candidates based on test results.
No need for external forms. Everything is inside the system.

Time-to-hire was reduced by one-third.
HR no longer spends hours on manual sorting.
Managers receive hiring funnel reports in Zoho Analytics.
Decisions are based on data, not gut feeling.
